Conrad Hotel

A few weeks ago, while I was working on translating this biography, I was fortunate enough to find this postcard of the Conrad Chicago Hotel on eBay, circa 1952. Aside from the obvious age, this is probably how it would have looked to Père Brédy in 1966 when he walked up all the way from 52nd Street in Hyde Park.

The back of the card bills the Conrad Hilton as being “The World’s largest (and friendliest) hotel”. With 3000 rooms, it surely is still among the biggest.
